Established in 1981 in New York by Andy Goenka, Steelbro International Co., Inc. was originally founded to supply stainless mills in India owned by Goenka’s family. Expanding rapidly, we diversified to handle various non-ferrous grades and facilitate connections between North America’s recycling industry leaders and mills across Asia, breathing new life into discarded metal and redirecting it from landfills to global industry.

Over subsequent decades, our footprint expanded to encompass locations in Illinois, UAE, India, and China, bolstering our global supply chain and ensuring a seamless flow of recyclable metals.

Today, Andy Goenka leads our team alongside Rajat Mittal and Abhijay Goenka. Together, they actively contribute to the growth of the recycling industry, leveraging their expertise to lead trade associations, shape policies, and advocate for the transformative power of recycling worldwide.
